For Spring break, we thought we'd make a run for it and head to the desert- and cheap flights into Vegas really helped! We rented a car at the Vegas airport, drove to a house we rented just outside of Zions, and camped out for a couple of days. The house was amazing- lots of space, great views, two pools... we stayed there a day, then drove into Zions and did a couple of hikes. Then drove into Bryce the next day- rode horses, hiked and came back to chill at the pools. It was a heavenly trip. We are excited to visit the Grand Canyon next!
These are the ads inside the Zion's buses... we thought they were pretty funny!
Emilie caught an inch worm- they are pretty cool to play with- especially during lunch at the Zion's lodge outside on the deck overlooking the canyon :)
We hiked to three waterfalls for one of our hikes at Zion's.
And of course played in the water.
After long days, we settled in for some ice cream at Baskin Robbins.
We had a pond right outside our house- with ducks, turtles and geese.
And of course we went to the pool- and often :)
The best skipping rock.
I stolethe idea of bringing coloring/painting supplies to paint what we saw on our hikes from a friend. It was a great way to appreciate the beauty all around us.
I love the desert and the endless sky and land. Coming back to silicon valley and it's congestion was a beast!
These two champs swam from one rock to the other in pretty cold water!
Don't mind my big belly.
I love this picture- look at those smiles!
Bryce is just out of this world.
This hike is absolutely stunning.
The Zion's narrows were closed, but it was ok- because that means less tourists :)
