Only a matter of time!

It was only a matter of time that all of my friends on the face of this planet would move! Ok- it's dramatic, but partially true. Linsdsey- check. Jennifer- check. Meghan- check, Hayley- check. Holly- check. Sarah- check. Other Sarah- check. Melissa- check. Nicole- check. Ashley- check. You know it's bad, when someone asked me within three subsequent weeks, "what are you doing this week?" and I responded "going to another going away dinner."

I am slowly coming to peace with it- the sun will rise again :)

These people are not moving! I threw a last minute shower for a super cute girl in our church, and we basically had dessert for breakfast. (waffles with toppings). That Nutella was soooo good.

Random summer fun

We've been making good food... one of our favorite things to do...

Bought a super cool ball at target!

 Playing with friends..

Practicing walking... almost there!! He can now walk if I just walk beside him holding his hand. So cute.

We have been at the pool... which I always love. I'm so glad we joined the cabana club- it has been the best.

Sebi goes up this slide every day!

We haven't gone to Gilroy Gardens as much as I thought we would, but it is always fun (and exhausting) when we do.

Laura was so nice to come with us, because I just can't ride everything with everybody... it is impossible.

My favorite ride at the park is the banana... we rode it 4 times.

This little fish is a great swimmer- she is working on her butterfly. We'll see if she wants to join the swim team next year.

And our goal of getting Emilie swim safe is almost there! We enrolled both Emilie and Maddie into swim camp- which they absolutely loved. I think we will do it again next year. They met this instructor at camp, and we asked her if she'd like to give the girls some private lessons... and it has been awesome. Hopefully by September, Emilie will be set!

And of course, this little guy wants to get in everything, and crawled right into the pool head first! I didn't know he would do it, but he did, and I luckily was just right there so I grabbed his shirt and pulled him out. Could have been super scary!

Our tomatoes are full swing- and soooo good. Nothing better than a sandwich with fresh tomatoes. Wow.

And, we made raisins from grapes our friends picked for us. They are soooooo good.

The Attic

Steve gets a major prize for working almost every night, weekend and waking moment to work on our attic which will be Maddie and Emilie's room in three weeks? I'm super hopeful, but also a realist- so not sure if it will really be three weeks, but it is coming. You can't see this, but it is HOT in the attic- usually around 100 degrees because there is no insulation yet- so even more props for him- especially working in that white suit that protects his skin. Oh, I could never do this! But, he does- and it is going to be adorable.

I have spent days scouring houzz, pinterest, websites... trying to figure out color schemes, styles for not only this room, but their old room which will then be Sebastian. I don't know why it is so hard! But for some reason, I can't find anything I love yet. But- it will come :) We may be spraypainting their beds red? Black? Faint blue? Not sure yet.

Can't wait to see the finished project!!!

Sebastian's 1 year birthday!!

Poor Sebastian was sick on his birthday and completely on ibuprofen to take the edge off. We tried to keep everything pretty low key, but we had to make cupcakes at the very least!

I'm not going to lie, he is a handful. And, not just in the typical boy sort of way- although that has been a lot of work too. (Let's not forget he opened the oven - luckily while not on, opens doors already, loves to get in everything and tear everything apart, loves getting in his sister's stuff etc). He is so clingy! He cries his heart out when I put him down, freaks out if I leave the room... it is a little hard and I have been trying to figure out what to do. I really hope this is a phase, that he will quickly transition out of !!

But, aside from that, he is the most adorable, cuddily, spunky, full of energy little boy ever! He has the cutest smiles, loves to play games like "peek a boo," is starting to take a couple of steps (!!!), loves to eat dirt, is a great hug giver which is awesome! He also talks all the time- well babbles, so we are wondering if he is going to be a talker!? And, of course, he has the best hair- I love it- and will never buzz it ever! He loves all sorts of foods, and we just took him off formula to straight milk which was an easy transition. Balls are his favorite, as are sticks, and being held all the time! He also loves to play with the remote controls and pretends to turn on the TV (and sometimes he does!). How fast a year goes- and I can't wait for the next year! My favorite!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

After we sang "Happy Birthday," he dove into this chocolate cupcake even though he wasn't feeling the best... sugar is great for your immune system, right? Yikes...

Lol. He is trying to keep straight... I think he went to bed right after this.

But, after milk of course.

He usually likes to go to the park, so we took him on the wagon..

And played with some balls and bubbles! I think he liked...no loved it!

Steve's little bro

Steve's brother and sister in law have been living in southern California for her medical residency, and recently moved up to San Francisco for an internship- and we are excited to be close to them! They stayed with us for a week while they found housing, and it was nice having them around. We even loved their huge huskies!! Too bad we didn't take more pics, but we had dinner at the Counter and listened to our other friend's band play at Santana Row...they were so good and I was so impressed!

4th of July Weekend

Our great friends invited us to their Tahoe cabin for the 4th of July (and the word cabin is used loosely here as the neighborhood had properties going for around 1 million +). We had such a great time and it reminded us that we need to visit Tahoe more often!

On the way up, we stopped in Auburn, about the cutest "Americana" town I have ever visited. Each shop decorated their front doors, there were flags on everyone and everywhere... it was the best. The town hosted...
 Tug O war...
Watermelon eating contests...

Abraham Lincoln with a loudspeaker made out of a blender...

 Super cute tourists...
A slicked down pole competition... what else?

More watermelon! I love how they cut it like this!

A pancake breakfast that we devoured. It was a very memorable 4th of July morning. I'd love to host something like this sometime and invite the neighborhood.

We then made our way up to the cabin, unpacked, distressed and just laid around, ate and got ready for some fireworks!

Steve, Emilie and I ended up being the only ones who made it down to the lake, but it was a great show! I've never seen fireworks over a lake before!!

The next couple of days we lounged at the beach, swam, kayaked, biked, ate, jumped off piers, swam at one of their swanky country clubs...it was nice to say the least.

We spent most of our time at the Tahoe/Donner lake, which is a nice change from the bigger lake- it definitely feels more relaxed.

We found a little stream that emptied into the lake and went upstream to find the most amazing houses that had the river as their backyard- with each house having docks, boats, kayaks, canoes ready to jump in whenever they wanted. Super envious!

We met up with some friends for an amazing rib/hamburger lunch..

The girls/steve jumped off the pier into the freezing lake! I can't believe they did it!

 And, we were just lazy.

and cute :)
