All things Berlin

I am embarrassed to write this, but I didn't really know the history of Berlin until we came here- blame it on my horrible history teachers!! I have REALLY enjoyed the history side of the trip, and would love to take a European History course when I get back. Seeing cities with your own eyes is the way to go ;)

Most of the "famous" things about Berlin, have been torn down (for good reason)... so when you come to see the "berlin wall," there really isn't a wall anymore, other than what is called the "East Side Gallery," where they have let artists show their stuff.

There were some kids who were taking their photos jumping, so we thought we'd copy!! I wanted to take a pic of all the fam, but the kids were grumpy!!!

grumpy.

We waited for 2 hours to climb the TV tower, but it was well worth the spectacular view of the city.

I love this shot of the tower's shadow on "Alexander platz."

Steve ordered the girls two popsicles.

They can now both say "to your health" when they give toasts. It is pretty cute!

Street performers are the best wherever we go, especially this little puppet.

I really loved this church and it's art- it isn't the usual macabre scenes, but really refreshing and beautiful.

I love love Mary in this scene- she is so beautiful.

Perfect. Just probably how it was :)

The girls and I climbed the steps, while Steve enjoyed the cool pews.

A great view of the plaza below.

Someone made a heart for us in the grass!!

My hoofs in all their glory!

Maddie loves grass- and screams for it everywhere we go... poor kid! Probably means some time away from the "schedule" and just a break.

After a quick bite to eat, we played in the fountains before Emi hit her head when she slipped :(

We stopped at this fountain we've passed 5 times, but this time it was more relaxing :)

For some reason, there are little bunny rabbits jumping around in this park?? Is that weird or what? Very very cute for us!!

Here's to a rain free Berlin!!! Yea!!
